The Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), with support from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), are continuing their security campaign launched inside al-Hol camp on April 18, based on intelligence information about the movements and activity of sleeper cells affiliated with ISIS mercenaries inside and around the camp.

In this context, Sama Hasaka, a commander in the Tal Tamer Military Council who is participating in the operation, stressed the importance of continuing this security campaign, noting that al-Hol camp is not just a detention center, but an effective political base for ISIS mercenaries, from which cells continue to reorganize and plan operations that threaten the security of the region and the world.

Sama Hasaka told ANHA agency: "We are continuing to comb al-Hol camp, and our goal is to eliminate sleeper cells inside the camp. Recently, we have noticed an increase in the movements of ISIS mercenaries who are organizing their ranks secretly, which makes it our duty to protect the people of the region, and indeed the entire world."

A Prominent Role for the Women's Protection Units in the Campaign

Sama Hasaka highlighted the active role of the Women's Protection Units in these operations, emphasizing that the participation of female fighters was not limited to this campaign alone, but extended to all major battles in the region, including confrontations with ISIS mercenaries and the Turkish occupation forces.

She explained that "the Women's Protection Units have been participating in military campaigns since their inception in Rojava and North and East Syria until today. Our presence is not limited to al-Hol but extends to all front lines, because protecting the components of North and East Syria and deterring terrorism is a shared global responsibility."

Field Challenges and Women's Extremism Inside the Camp

Regarding the difficulties faced by the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) during security operations inside al-Hol camp, Sama Hasaka said that the female ISIS mercenaries in the camp are characterized by extreme extremism. They do not cooperate with security forces and often refuse to be searched or dealt with. They even attack the female fighters by throwing stones or insulting them.

She noted that the "migrant women" sector inside al-Hol camp is the most extreme, as the women train their children in terrorist and extremist ideology. She noted that some of the training inside the camp goes beyond the military aspect and includes the dissemination of extremist ideology that contradicts human values.

Calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities

Concluding her remarks, Sama Hasaka, a leader in the Tal Tamer Military Council, called on the international community to assume its responsibility for the camp and its complex conditions, saying, "What is happening in al-Hol camp does not only constitute a local threat, but an international one. The entire world must contribute to confronting this challenge and alleviating the burden on the Autonomous Administration and the military forces, especially the Women's Protection Units, which have been fighting this battle for years."
